Thanks to the outstanding work of IMBA Americas’ Director Khru Gustavo Perez Hernandez, the Academy’s 2nd Congress held in Mexico City resulted in a huge success. Students and instructors gathered from every corner of Mexico and from Brasil, Colombia, Switzerland and Italy as well, to take part to the historical event. It appeared evident to all, that the future development of Muay Boran is going to take place in the American Continent: from Asia, where it was born, to Europe where it was developed and from Europe to Central and South America, Siam’s ancient fighting Art is proving to be a real World heritage. Hundreds of IMBA’s members joined together to reharse the basic postures and techniques that form the Academy’s International Syllabus: an incredible energy was felt by all the participants during the long training sessions and no one showed any sign of fatigue or lack of interest all along. For the first time, IMBA Muay Lert Rit was officially presented to South American instructors: 45 new teachers joined the first “teachers course” ever held in the american continent and 20 of them were awarded the desired instructor’s level one (basic) certificate.
